WHY I LUV TINY SHOPS VILLAGE ~ TING

“ I was in a metal band in Taiwan when I was in high school. Since then I brought my guitar to all the different countries I lived in, but I never got around to playing it.

I came to Tiny Shops Village to help people fix their bicycles. One day, these two guys came down and played beautiful music while I fixed their bikes. It reminded me that I used to love doing that. These people were so nice, they told me – just practice and you will improve. Since then – about a year ago – I play at home every single day.

I think Tiny Shops is an amazing place. People feel free to join in and it draws different things out of people. For me it’s been transformative. I don’t drink. For myself there’s no other place I go to meet people.

Ting performed an awesome first “Tiny Concert” in early February with a few planned and impromptu performers. including local music legend Eddie (above) and the talented Ann McMahon – master of quirky lyrics!

Tiny Shops loves Ting! As well as helping weekly with the bike workshops she would love to play guitar here again and often; and is planning to do another dumplings cooking event here in April.
