Well, whānau, we had a little celebration. Our last building is up and running, and that was an opportunity to celebrate and bless the whole project as well.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this project in whatever way they could, and to everyone who came along to celebrate and show the Village some love. Thanks too, to Wiare and the Housing First Band, for the tunes.

The Christchurch City Council has supported Greening the Rubble and community development organisation Te Whare Roimata to repurpose a vacant area on the main road for use by the local community. This story captures the passion of those involved in the project – which saw close collaboration between a number of donor groups, local volunteers and the city council.  Video by Telling Lives
